Abstract

The study has analyzed the magnitude of purpose wise agricultural advances, recoveries and overdues of loans disbursed by Jobner branch of Rajasthan Marudhara Gramin Bank. The study was conducted in Jaipur district of Rajasthan by collecting data from 50 defaulter borrowers from the bank branch. Borrowers were categorized into marginal (<1 ha), small (1-2 ha), semi-medium (2-4 ha), medium (4-10 ha) and large (>10 ha) sized farmers. Data were summarized using descriptive statistics. The results showed that the per cent of recovery to amount sanctioned was found to be highest for land development followed by dairy farming, tractor and trolley, digging of well and crop loan. The category wise per cent of recovery to amount sanctioned was highest for medium farmers followed by large and small farmers. The study concluded that there is a need for timely monitoring and implementation of the use of loans by the borrowers.
