The results exhibited the criteria distinguishing ERP systems from other software products, gave a comparative cost analysis of implementing ERP systems, and considered the ERP processes to provide the enterprise with material resources. It was concluded that ERP systems are an important tool for managing the efficiency of an enterprise through integrated and systematic automation of all its business processes. Implementing contemporary automated enterprise management systems of the ERP class at Russian enterprises significantly increases the enterprise's procurement management efficiency and strengthens its competitive advantages.
